Missing mom's cooking

Right now, it’s her “salisbury steak with white rice” that I’m craving…she cooks it with soy sauce and it is sooooo delicious…you like your mom’s cooking?

My moms cooking is normal. It wasn’t really like that in our family. I can cook too though so it doesn’t really matter to me. She makes good tetrazzini though that I’ve never made. Her quiches and tetrazzini are good.

My grandma made wicked meatballs.
Sooooo delicious!
No one else comes close to the greatness of taste etc of her meatball dish.

She was a brilliant cook.
She wasn’t educated chef but she had a special touch with her cooking.

I’m vegan now but omg was it delicious.

Sitting at her table eating her food was special I think.

My other grandma mostly baked and baked good tasting bakeries.
Her man’s passion was cooking and he was very knowledgeable and it tasted so delicious but still not as delicious as my other grandmother cooking.

My mother made a beef stew that was nourishing back then.
I was lacking and was deficient so needed that stew.
She made it for a friend of hers but I got some.:yum:.
I adored her vol au vaunts.vol au vaunts were perfect tasting for me at that time.
She also made a nice salad once and a nice macaroni dish.

My former stepmother baked me a vegan cake and it was a perfect cake.

I had a friend who baked for me almost week.
Loved her.
We lost contact but that was sweet of her.
She just loved baking.
Never asked for payment or anything in Return.

I appreciate the beautiful food they cooked for me.

I wonder if I have made any memorable dishes for anyone.
Hope so!

In their different ways my mum(international) and wife (standard British) were both 1st rate cooks . My mum did a great fish casserole, and a really tasty sukiyaki . My wife did a wonderful lamb stew and a good boiled bacon with pease pudding.

Mums always look after you and make healthy, nutritious meals. I sometimes miss that living alone.

My mom is a terrible cook and you have to be careful eating at her house because she eats things long after they expire, including meat and dairy.

The only meal she makes really yummy is sausage, potatoes and sauerkraut

My mother is an amazing chef, and baker. I have the body type to prove it, too lol she does make a lot of things from scratch. I’m so thankful I have a mother who cooks well and often

My mum was a brilliant cook. She made vegetable and chicken curry from scratch it was good
She also made the best bolognaise
When we had flu she used to make chicken noodle soup with fresh chicken stock. Even her cheese on toast was good

My grandpa was a baker in the Navy and he could make the best pies, breads, and cookies. Every year at Christmas he’d make homemade stollen that was divine! I inherited his KitchenAid mixer when he passed, it’s old as dirt but a very high quality mixer and just keeps on running.
