chicken fried steak, cream gravy, mashed potatoes and more cream gravy. green beans with vinegar and bacon, pickled beets and lemon cake for dessert…man, I miss my grandma’s cooking…what’s your favorite meal your grandma used to make?

My grandmother was not a nice person, she treated my mom horribly and really screwed her up. Our family stopped seeing her when I was in high school. I remember back when I was a kid though our grandparents took us out for Greek Easter dinner at an expensive restaurant. I remember we had lamb, green beans and green pears. For some reason, the Greeks like to color their pears with green. I also remember spending Thanksgiving with my grandparents one year and thought it was weird when they served ham instead of turkey.
I loved my grandmother she was the s*** but as a cook she was kind of limited she made sugar cookies pound cake stew corn and lobster and that’s it I don’t think she cooked anything else

My Mother on the other hand was an exceptional cook.
She was fantastic!

Neither of my grandmothers were very nice or good cooks.
I mean, they each had their dish they were particularly good at,
But not cooks.
I love my grandmas, don’t get me wrong,
I just don’t miss their cooking.

My gma just won second place at the fair for her cooking yesterday. Love me some maw-maws cooking lol.
