In the future, there will no longer be a swimsuit competition…and get this…contestants will no longer be judged by their appearance!
Why even hold the beauty pageant in the first place if these are the new stipulations?

I think being born naturally beautiful is a gift. Why not share/ flaunt it? Advertisers use ‘cheesecake’ to sell all kinds of products. And women use their looks to their own advantage every day in life.

Even with the new rules in place,
I don’t think we have to worry about any ugly Miss America’s coming down the pipeline.
It’ll still be a beauty pageant, they just can’t say it is anymore.

It seems to me that the organization is trying to strike a balance between beauty, brains and personality. I agree with doing away with the swimsuit competition, but of course the contestants will still be judged on outward appearance.
The women must win a state beauty pageant to be in the Miss America, so I’m wondering if those pageants have adopted the new criteria (wouldn’t make sense to have a swimsuit competition at the state competition).
This seems like a half-step to eliminating the pageant altogether. It’s part of a new social conscience that I agree with. Such as animals in a circus; orcas in a tank; chickens in tiny cages; greyhounds literally running for their lives; bulls with electrodes tied around their testicles; and, yes, horses whipped bleeding across finish lines to make rich people richer.
“Counsel, are you going anywhere with this?” Well, judge, I hope I’ve come full circle on my social-conscience argument. “Counsel, congratulations, that was one hell of a rant.”

Seems a bit strange though. Where I live, a woman is legally allowed to walk around town topless.
Makes the swimsuit competition seem harmless by comparison.

I hope this puts a monkey wrench into the girls being pushed by their parents to act way above their age in kids’ beauty pageants. I do wonder how this will affect the ratings of the contest as I don’t know how many porn addicts through down their handhelds to view the pageant who would click it off then. I also wonder if Trump will tweet about it. It may be a bit of a shock to America society.
That’s sucky. The appearance competition was the best part of the pageant. Now, the American representative of Miss Universe will be an ugly contestant.
You see beautiful women walking around all over, think the pageant just makes them feel ugly, I would rather see the girl next door look than all that make up and stuff

I think if women want to get all dressed up and wear a ton of make-up, and hairspray their hair and wear expensive gowns to get that glamorous look and compete to see who’s the most glamorous that’s great. But it’s pretty hard to look glamorous in a bikini. So good riddance to the bikini part of it. As far as not being judged on their appearance that’s seems ridiculous to me, it’s a beauty pageant and there is nothing wrong with it if that’s what they want to do.

In a way the Miss America Pageant has quickly changed from a porn flick to a chick flick. But in another way little girls who might compare the contestants to the image of princesses will have something better to emulate. So get your porn elsewhere fellows and let the old men who are looking for trophy wives perhaps look elsewhere. The former porn addict in me is repulsed. The uncle of nieces in me and a man who weighs a ton myself applauds it.

Admittedly that might have been happening a long time ago. Things have changed a lot over the years. It certainly started that way. In any event Donald Trump was picking women up from the Miss Universe pageant. I actually haven’t watched it in years but it turned me on when I was a teenager.
