Is it possible that its just a brief psychotic episode instead of schizophrenia? I was diagnosed 3 years ago and have had no symptoms except a few negatives. Should I have doctor reexamine my case?

If you have questions about your illness you should definitely ask your doctor because they will know you the most, next to yourself.

How many episodes have you had? Have you lost insight? Had hallucinations or heard voices?
Have you come off of medication and relapsed before?

Are you on medication for schizophrenia? This could be the reason nothing else has happened. The earlier they catch it the better off you are. I didn’t believe my diagnosis either but doctors don’t go to school forever to be stupid

I thought I was misdiagnosed in the early days. It’s been 10 years and two psychotic episodes and I still have no clear answer. I got told mood disorder last but that’s too vague.
