Misconceptions of your country

For Australia they think we live in the outback with kangaroos and shite. Most of our population is in the big cities and all on the coast! We do have a lot of animals that will mess you up…but most of the suburbs are pretty same ole same ole these days. We do get the odd kangaroo or snake out in the suburbs!

I lived in the United States for a couple of years. I love America. Not the America you see on tv or in the movies…just that mad, crazy, weird America that is day to day. I did live down south though and am dissapointed I never got up north!

Some Americans think Scandinavian countries are socialist countries.
We’re capitalist democracies. We just don’t think high tax rates, public welfare systems, and low income inequality are bad things.

Some people think that polar bears are in Finland, well it is not the case, we have just brown bears …

My country of usa is filled with “random diversity” which can and will cause culture shock. None of us are the same…but we get along.

Some people don’t believe we have wild haggis in Scotland - little furry creatures with one leg shorter than the other so they can run in circles around mountains.

Some people think that the entire Autobahn in Germany has no speed limit. Away from major cities and large town’s there is where you’d find no speed limit zones. Throughout Germany, just not everywhere you go, cause you know, safety and major populated areas traffic lol

I really like that! You should come to my village - the pub has a traditional folk music evening once a week.

From what I’ve seen of mountain men from the Appalachians, they are not totally dissimilar from rural Scottish folk.

USA is a country of immigrants. Only the Native Americans did not immigrate.

Some of the men probably are of either Irish or Scottish descent
