Misconceptions of your country

True on the differently. For instance I have never had waffles and chicken.

I love canadian/brit comedians. But you’re probably right. I do like me some george carlin as well.

Do you have to wait a long time to see the doctor in Canada if you are sick? What about for check ups?

A normal appointment you can get in 3 weeks but if it is more urgent within a week

You can see a doctor in a walk-in clinic right away, or make an appointment with a doc and see him within a week usually

ER waits take about 4-6 hours. Check-ups are free with your family doctor. We’re covered for just about everything in Canada, except dental…but my employer covers me for that.

That is a bit long for an urgent need… But not as bad as some people in america say.

Is it true what they say about Canadians and maple syrup?

What do they say? Lol

That college isn’t affordable or super expensive.

It depends on your income, scholarships, family income, dependency status, grades, location, AND the school you pick. ( not a full list here)

It’s like any big financial decision. Like buying a car or house.

Given my situation, I could get into college practically free. I would even make a small profit.

Subsidized student loans are nice too.

The only problem I have is housing. If you’re worried, stay local and commute. ( I was impressed with Germanys low rent though. I heard this from an international student. )

Stay away from pricey colleges that are online or for profit.

America has the world’s best colleges and universities. amazing!

Top private colleges have larger endowments, are pricier, but end up giving more/most financial aid. They also give the best jobs. Think Harvard or Stanford. It may be cheaper going there than a state school, but they’re so hard to get into.

Pretty much sums up what I know.

A misconception about U.S.
Hmm! I’m not sure. But I think I know a truth though. Seems like we can’t go more than a decade without fighting someone. I know war can spurn the economy but jeez Louise.

that everyone in the country in every state leads an identical life

I live in the U.S. People think we’re greedy, self-centered money-hungry, mass murderers.

Wait a minute; they’re right.

Love it when people find out I’m from Canada and ask if I know so and so in Vancouver and i live in Manitoba
It’s like being from Minneapolis and being asked if you know so and so from Texas
