i saw an advert in a shop window for a dog walker and i took the number so i built up the courage to phone this morning and shes going to phone back in the afternoon so excited xxx
Best of luck!
it didnt work out but i have an idea now about how to get some light work from a local place, i need to contact my support worker and try and do it through her so that its legit and then she can help me contact a local place and i could maybe get some jobs from them
Have you tried job agencies?
no but my support worker will help me with all of that, i phoned her and she was just letting me know some things that i had to understand, even though i am wanting to do this i might not be able and thats why i need to take things really slow bc i seem to want to run before i can crawl which isnt very good
but i just get these ideas and opportunities come up and i get excited and think i can do them, my support worker said she will help with getting me ready and able to do something and it shouldn’t affect my benefits which is really good
You’re making progress. That’s great!
just got to deal with all of the stress and anxiety that goes with it, thats the hardest part i think, luckily my main symptoms are under control just now as well, so thats good.
Hi daydreamer i’m in the UK too. Working might not effect your benefits at first but it will in the long run. As far as i know you can work on ESA only for a year. I think if you work it will really go against you if it comes to future claims of benefits. The UK is not like the USA, you can’t both work and claim benefits.
its ok, my doctors said they will back me up if they have to, even if that means fighting a decision, but yes, i am very weary and i am being extremely cautious, i think if i have a support worker i can do it for londer than a year and also bc i am in the support group, idk i’ll need to ask, i also heard it can go against me when i get an assessment done but i think i’ll just cross that bridge when it gets here. shitting myself inside though, i cant be getting sanctioned and ■■■■, i’ve been told that wont happen though.
Even with just applying, you hone skills that are important for entering the workforce.
Best of luck!
If your in the support group, there isn’t a 52 week limit, I think!
Anyway if you do it through your support worker you might be able to arrange supported permitted work!
That would also enable you to work without the 52 week time period and I think you can work more hrs, but can’t earn any extra, again I think!
I think they say for as long as you are in the support group which could be taken away when I get assessed they say it will go against me
