I would work if i could

i know this sounds cliche but i really would like to work

the bonuses of working far outweigh the downside

like if i worked even part time then i would be meeting new people and getting more exercise

all of which may help me life my life a bit longer and help me find a girlfriend.

only downside for me about it is if i can actually do it,

its a lot harder for me now with these gullet spasms and anxiety because it can really restrict what i can do :frowning:

it would have to be something where there is hardly any physical stuff like lifting and cleaning, it gets me really worked up, i have been doing a little light voluntary work in a kitchen for a few hours and it gets really difficult near the end, my chest gets all tight and sore and i can’t function :frowning:

i’m going to look into it for sure and try and pick the right time to try, i’m hoping its for the best.

Yea,working has its benefit but not working is okay too because we had an illness,we had to make choice to see if we can handle our job…

All you can do is try and give it your best shot. If it works out…then it works out…
If it doesn’t…then it doesn’t…

i need to try and start off small like a couple of hours just to see if i could do it,

i couldn’t do cleaning or anything or hard work really, physical stuff really gets me worked up :frowning:

i’m not sure what i could do really and thats if there is anything out there in the first place.

Maybe a cashier at a dry cleaners. Or some other small business that doesn’t get too busy.

don’t think i could be a cashier either, its a bit too personal

i think i’d like to work in the background unseen lol

Yeah, me too…

Hand model?..

Not sure if you have a program there for getting back into work for the disabled or the mentally ill. One thing they can do is cover insurance for work experience which gives a better idea of what jobs entail. Does give the opportunity to explore a few things. Vocational counselling or career counselling is something to look at also.

Maybe also try volunteering for a couple of days a week and increase from there. Volunteering helps to get back into things with a little less pressure. Helps build up self esteem, Feel a part of the community. Does also give you a feel of the job much like work experience. Volunteering in general does help to fill gaps in your resume due to time off due to the illness. Looks good on your resume also as employers love people who do volunteer. As shows you’re apart of the community and trustworthy.

And as Baz Luhrmann - Everybody’s Free (To Wear Sunscreen) said

Don’t feel guilty if you don’t know what you want to do with your life…the most interesting people I know didn’t know at 22 what they wanted to do with their lives, some of the most interesting 40 year
olds I know still don’t.

there is a thing called permitted work which could help me maybe do something and earn a little at the same time but i’m not sure if it applies to me.

There is a chicken factory not far from where I live that is paying $13.90 an hour plus benefits. That is great for this area. That might not sound like much, but the cost of living is so much lower in Arkansas and Oklahoma than it is in other places that this money has a lot more buying power than you’d think. I would go to work for them, except that I couldn’t take the heat in the summer time because of the anti-psychotic medications I am on. It’s almost tempting to go off my med’s so I can work there.

do you mean like killing chickens and stuff? idk if i could do that

good money over here is like £8.50 an hour

Most likely. I know there are other chicken plants near here where you do stuff like that. Probably killing them and cutting them up - different jobs.
