Methods for insight

So I’m being told I’m paranoid and delusional. But I don’t agree. What are some ways/methods to have insight into your illness? How do I know it’s not real?

There’s no way to know for sure.
If you are deep in delusion, nothing can make you have insight

The right meds help. I had many delusions while psychotic they went away with antipsychotics. I still have one delusion curently

Maybe ask other people? That’s hard though because when I do that I tend to just think they’re wrong. Maybe if you don’t tend to think that way then ask other people.

I’ve tried that but they haven’t convinced me yet

If you think a delusion is real, you won’t ask others if it’s true. You are sure

If you are sure could also you might be wrong

I don’t understand you

@LilyoftheValley I’m not convinced either.

@Om_Sadasiva Yes but if you develop a theory you can ask other people if your theory is real or a delusion. So ask. Even though I stopped asking because my mom thinks everything is a delusion even when it’s not.

I am sure my parents want to get rid of me but this doesn’t mean i am right about this, so i might be wrong even if i am sure of it @Om_Sadasiva

I am sure I have captain beefheart’s mustache intertwined with my brain neurons and nothing can make me believe otherwise. I am sure I live in a matrix. I know they sound unusual to the majority of people

The way I see it, either I am wrong or others are wrong. I don’t know who to trust though. I think I should trust myself but also I was diagnosed for a reason. What that reason is I’m not sure. Maybe they were wrong.

@Sardonic that’s how I feel.

That the doctors were wrong? Yeah. I think I was just waking up to the real world and they thought I was going psychotic because they don’t understand spiritual and supernatural awakening, or they do understand and they diagnosed me to keep me asleep. But I know that people would say that’s a delusion so I don’t know.

I feel the same @Sardonic.

I’m sure I will sleep god
But that doesn’t mean I will

I’ve not always recognized all my problems in thinking

but sometimes it happens through osmosis

I start to know it’s not right

If something feels real but is totally out there, it’s probably a delusion. Compare thoughts with actions.

People who want to get rid of people don’t give them a home or help them. They don’t try to get them to go on medicine if they want them gone because medicine stabilizes you and makes you “stay” longer. Therapy helps you stay longer. Going into a hospital helps you stabilize to stay longer

Living parents feed and help you any way they can.
