I have been having really problems with morning sedation off seroquel. I tried taking in one dose just before bed but it doesn’t last the full 24hrs.

Began experimenting with taking it at funny times. All I managed to achieve was messing up my whole med routine.

I quickly felt weird. I woke at 4am this morning fully dressed on top of my sheets needing my meds. Luckily I had them in a doset box (don’t think I could have dispensed them on my own). Took my meds and fell asleep till 11am.

Feel a lot better now (6:30pm). Have just taken my night meds - a little earlier than usual cos I took the morning ones so early.

Hopefully by tomorrow I will be back in my med routine (9:30am morning dose).

ask for seroquel XR not just seroquel

Im on seroquel xr and it doesn’t run out. Then again im on 2mg rexulti in the morning. Talk to ur pdoc about getting a low dose of a non-sedating med like abilify or latuda in the morning. U can take it @ 8 am and u wont run out of meds…

My nurse is going to speak to the doc, but unfortunately here in the uk the NHS has limited funds. I can’t afford it privately.

Apparently it costs a fair bit, even though it has gone generic here. My nurse is championing my corner but ultimately it is in my docs hands.

ah I am in the US- it is like candy for schizophrenia here. I hope it works out for you- I hate how they make schizophrenia patients go through hoops and hurdles to get meds- so ■■■■■■ up

I know ■■■■■■ up isn’t it. I know my old doc would have prescribed the XR in a. Heartbeat.

But I think the NHS administration is leaning on the current docs. Suppose that is just the way the world works.
