I would prefer to take 600mg at night. But is it so short acting that it needs to be taken in the morning also? Am worried about daytime sedation.

I would not take it in the morning. I’d sleep all day too. Check if there is other meds working for you that lasts all day and night.
I have pretty much tried most meds and the seroquel worked best for me. I was taking the XR (extended release) version which worked great. Took it before bed and it lasted 24 hours.
Now my council are saying the XR version is too expensive and I have to take regular.
Yes, but as an add on, not on its own. Don’t forget that very important fact. Seroquel on its own was a nightmare for me, but that was just me.
I tried both xr and normal versions. Normal version takes a few days to get used to when you switch to it, but I preferred it to xr.
But yeah, don’t confuse a seroquel add on with seroquel on its own would be my advice.
