I am not liking Medicare. Government health insurance sucks. I had to get a new therapist and he is a quack.
Now the company that sends my CPAP supplies won’t take my Medicare and I have to go to a new supplier. But the new supplier is treating me like a new patient. I have to go and see my GP tomorrow and get him to fax them a copy of my sleep study, a prescription for the CPAP and doctors notes that say I use the machine
All of this just to get a new mask and a new hose every three months. Maybe I should have just bought them.
I sent my doctor a note with the fax number and the requirements but the LPN that answered told me to make an appointment.
Eventually I will get things straight. Maybe I do need a job with better insurance because I can’t use my Tricare as my primary insurance again.
What a pain in the arse!
Is everyone else happy with Medicare and Medicaid?
When I was on Medicaid I liked everything except dental. I had a cavity, and they said they couldn’t fill it for six months, because they were so overbooked! But I was luckily able to keep all my same doctors. New York is a pretty good place to be poor.
I guess it’s better than nothing but my insurance from my job I tetired from was certainly better.
At least my PDoc and GP take Medicare. I guess I could always go back to the VA but my sleep apnea wasn’t service connected. Got a sleep study done after I retired so I don’t know if they would cover it or not.
I’m not sure if I have Medicare or Medicaid. I hope I do, because I have an appointment with a dermatologist to see if this small lump on my face is skin cancer. The lump is irregular in its shape, but it is light colored. I’ve heard that irregular lumps are a danger signal of skin cancer.
I am so happy to have both medicare and Medicaid. When I tried to off myself by taking the whole bottle of latuda I had to be care-flighted to Reno to be in the cardiac ICU. They paid 14000 just for the plane flight alone. I don’t know how much the ICU was but I’m sure it wasn’t cheap. They covered everything. I paid nothing financially. I am so blessed for that.
There are certain things I like about my Medicare coverage.
I like my prescription drug coverage but I don’t like the fact that a lot of different psychiatrists and therapists don’t accept Medicare.
I would like to see my last therapist again but she doesn’t accept Medicare.
I would have to pay a lot of money just to see her, so it’s not worth it.
A medical condition does not have to be service-connected to be covered by VA health insurance. Sleep apnea is covered (I have sleep apnea and a CPAP machine).
