I had a little trouble with Haldol. That kind of thing varies from individual to individual, though. Sometimes it takes a little trial and error to get the right med’s for a person.

what was your trouble?

I take Haldol, 2 mg in the morning and 1 mg at night, with no problems. This is in addition to Abilify injections.

do you have motivation to do stuff?

It totally demoralized me. I’d lay in bed fifteen hours a day and day dream about easy ways to commit suicide. It works well for some people, though. I talked to one guy who liked Haldol and had a hard time with Geodon. That sure isn’t the case with me.

Geodon kills my sexual drive tottaly, quetepine doesnt work… Xeplion was good just I dont have motivation on it

I’ve had problems with motivation for a while. I get done what I need to get done, but I’m not exactly a go-getter. I’d say I pretty much have to force myself to do things. I don’t blame it on the meds though. I’ve been on Haldol for only a couple months.

Geodon dampens my sex drive a lot also. I’m willing to accept that because Geodon controls my symptoms without making me miserable.

i will try haldol , and if i didnt like it i will come back to xeplion, i hope my symptons not come back

That’s what I would say about the Abilify injections. I’m ok with it, though, since I’m not looking to date anyone at the moment, anyway.

what was your previous medicine?

I’ve tried a lot of them, but my go-to AP used to be Zyprexa. Zyprexa causes me akathisia now. But yeah, I’ve also been tried on Seroquel (akathisia), Risperdal (if I remember right, akathisia) and Latuda (left me flat), as well as various mood stabilizers and antidepressants (I have sza, bipolar type). I used to take Abilify tablets, preferred those, but I can’t get them for free anymore, have no insurance but I get the shots for free through a patient assistance program through the drug company.
