If you want to only speak to people with an sz/a diagnosis, post in DX’d - Sz/Sza. Your concern is why that category exists.

you think that’s true, it’s not. I’m here, on diagnosed. What do you see, Rhubot?

Not sure what you’re asking?

Lounge is open to everyone. DX’d - Sz/Sza is only for those who have at some point been diagnosed with schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder. It’s a change that was made while you were away. DX’d - Other is for general psychotic disorders, including bipolar, psychotic depression, etc.

You were concerned about talking to people who didn’t have sz/a - if you post in the new DX’d - Sz/Sza category, you can avoid that.

I don’t know what you’re saying. I get all categories under the diagnosed with schizophrenia forum that I click on from the schizophrenia.com website.

the lounge, the dz-other, creativity, and anything else that pulls up on my cursor when I post.

I’m in the diagnosed with schizophrenia forum. What I am saying is, so are many who don’t have it.

Isn’t there a bipolar site or psychotic depression site people can go to?

You’re posting in the Lounge category, which doesn’t restrict participation.

If it’s of utmost importance to you not to interact with people who don’t have an sz/a diagnosis, you can post in the category explicitly meant for that, DX’d - Sz/Sza.

Otherwise, the site structure allows for other participants. This change happened while you weren’t visiting the forum, so I’m just trying to help by drawing your attention to it. There is a category on this forum that addresses your specific concern.

They have similar sites for all mental health. I think it should be all open. You never know.

Plus, Patrick, some say, they’re all related!

I don’t mind if there are non Sz types on this forum. I just thought they’d have their own websites for each of their particular afflictions.

I think we’re better,

I don’t view myself as better than neurotypicals, bipolars, etc., I just have trouble relating to their problems as they’re not my problems. That’s why I advocated so hard for the Sz/A forum – a place where those who have lived with our specific stigma can support each other. Would really be appreciated by those of us who need our own space if those who don’t have Sz/A diagnoses (past or present) could respect our needs and not use that particular forum.

Is there is another forum that’s more broad with a good mobile format I could use?

This site was good for when I had a lot of psychosis but now that It is much rarer for me to have glitches like that I feel I should cruise on.

Mind you the negatives symptoms like flat affect, alogia and avolition don’t really have an area besides a depression forum but I don’t really get depressed much.

My mood aspect is no where near as extree as it use to be.

Maybe I’m just in a residual state and I’m recovering a little more bit by bit.

This site is just another useful tool in the arsenal of coping.

Schizoaffective is schizophrenia with bipolar symptoms also. I have that

Schizoaffective comes in two flavors, bipolar and depressive. Sounds like you’re schizoaffective - bipolar type.

I thought it was bi polar… Manic and depressive type… Im depressive type 2

One of the types is bipolar. The other is depressive. Someone with schizoaffective bipolar type will have periods of mania or hypomania and depression. Someone with schizoaffective depressive type won’t have the mania or hypomania, only depression.

People who have the condition experience psychotic symptoms — such as hallucinations or delusions — as well as a mood disorder. The mood disorder is either bipolar disorder (bipolar-type schizoaffective disorder) or depression (depressive-type schizoaffective disorder).
