I have just received permission to do my MSc Mental Health (online) from social security!
The conditions are that I pay for it myself and that I remain available for medical inspection (to see if I’m still disabled).
This is a good outcome, I think!
Thought I would share as soon as I know.
The program starts Sept 11th and is 2 years part-time.

Is it some kind of therapy programme?

MSc means Master of Science.
It’s a master’s program at a UK Uni.

Ok! Congratulations then! Good news!
I can’t study while being on disability. It’s against the law.

Here you can but you need to ask for permission.
That’s what I did.
That sucks you can’t study. I thought asking for permission was already annoying.

Grats @Jonathan2
What does a mental health degree allow you to do, therapy, etc?

It doesn’t give access to a specific profession.
It does allow you to progress to a PhD if you wanted (but I don’t) or go into research.
I think it’s just nice as a service user to have a well rounded understanding of mental health care and maybe one day help support people with mental health issues through other techniques.

I don’t think it is against the rules to study in Trinidad. They only have a problem if you are earning money.
