I have recently been considered for a management position where i work.
I only started 3 months ago and im afraid if I get it, the veterans of the store will be mean to me and i will never hear the ens of it…
Especially because im young and they’ve wasted years of their lives here.

Im hoping things work out for the best though, because if so it will look good that I’ve managed somewhere for 3 years and now if I get this opportunity it will hopefully help me in the future and open more doors.

Thoughts and reaffirmation on my delusion of being murdered for taking the job?

My boss was younger and didn’t have the seniority that I had but I was fine with it. Of course, she applied for the job. I didn’t.

If you’re the manager you’ll have to handle more responsibilities and maybe they don’t want to have to deal with that. I think the fact that you understand they may be upset says a lot. A lot of people will have an ego and think they are better because they are managing. They may know things you don’t so treating them with respect and hearing their input will go a long way.

You might be surprised with people. If your nice enough and all there’s not much they should worry about so good luck with it! A promotion is always a good thing!

You’re not going to get murdered. It’s just an annoying symptom of schizophrenia to think that.
