I have been working on leaving the house more often so have started going to this inn in the village. I go when it’s quiet. A 74 year old fella is always in at that time called Gavin.
We have made good friends. He is always drinking (I rarely drink) so is very talkative. The age gap is never a problem and I enjoy the time I spend with him.
I’ve always been more comfortable with folk that are in their 70’'s and up, even when I very young.
I like to call them, “well seasoned” rather than old, especially now that I’m getting up there in years.
Some of my best friends are well seasoned too. I usually go to dinner with them, I love it. The conversations are interesting, I don’t feel the need to be quiet in a corner and I don’t have the pressure to drink, they understand me and know me since I was little so it’s a big emotional family of friends. I know I’ll outlive them all and that is sad for me.
