Hello again went to see my psychiatrist today. He has prescribed Lyrica 50mg. 25mg at night with the 300mg of seroquel and 25mg at morning with the 225mg effexor and 10mg abilify.
He told me the lyrica should help my anxiety. I told him about the unwanted thoughts I am having and he said anxiety can do that. I hope I will see improvement on all these meds. I should do.
I thought I would let you guys know that I am starting lyrica tonight. I know you wont mind me updating you.
I’m on edge a lot of the time as well. My mind is racing wish it would slow down because it makes the anxiety worse as well. Definitely the seroquel has helped me . I don’t go to bed during the day since I started it but I’m still not great on focusing a bit better though for sure, a bit brighter so it’s working and doc said today he doesn’t want to increase other meds for now because of side effects. He will see me again in two weeks because it is holiday season.
Hi again. I’m taking a lot of meds but am feeling a bit brighter. I’ve not found any difference taking lyrica yet for my anxiety. I still pace a lot and am very anxious. It will take awhile to work and I’m on a small dose doc said. I cant relax.
I’m due to see doc again the week after next. I’m not sleeping great. Twisting and turning a lot. Does anyone know if the combination of meds I am taking is for schizophrenia? It’s just these meds are not usually prescribed for somataform disorder, maybe for depression and anxiety which I have as well. I’m just not sure I don’t have schizophrenia. Some days I think I do. Doc said I don’t.
Dunno I’m just not so sure. Maybe I’m overthinking. It’s the meds that’s got me thinking they are treating me for schizophrenia. I have very bad physical symptoms. Very debilitating they are but I’m trying to understand it all. I’ll talk to doc again soon.
i wouldn’t worry too much about if you have sz or not. Just try to get your life together and keep taking your meds. I have had several diagnoses. I think they just try to identify what problems you have and then give it a name but that can change. My diagnosis changed several times over 15 years.
I was on 600 mg lyrica, effexor and mirtazapine for somatoform disorder, schizotypal disorder and anxiety. Unfortunately Lyrica didn’t work for me, but it might work for you and i hope so. Every person reacts different to the same meds. Good luck.
Hi and thanks for your insight. I’ll definitely keep taking my meds. I’m not going to worry if I have schizophrenia or not. Waste of time. If doc thinks it is schizophrenia he will tell me I’m sure. I have different diagnosis too.
Thanks for your reply. 600mg is really high. I’m taking 50 mg two doses of 25mg a day, 225mg of effexor, 300mg quietapine and 10mg abilify. I know not all meds suit everyone. Doc did say he was giving me a small dose only of the lyrica. I suppose meds change depending on symptoms etc… I think this combination is making a difference because I’m more motivated and not staying in bed all day.
I’m grateful for any change compared to what I was. So my diagnosis is somataform disorder anxiety and depression. I’m still very anxious though.
