I’ve been a bit shy lately but am doing well. I have been very busy trying to get ready for school and such. I often come to read posts on the site but don’t respond much. I will probably jump back in soon but am still alive and quite well.
Classes start September 19 I think . It is a bit later, and I have been volunteering to pass the time. (I’ve also been drawing a bunch) I do have the option of the single room but am going to try out having roommates and see if it goes well. (mostly for expenses) If it is a bust, I can get swapped to my own room.
A community garden most mornings, collecting school supplies in drives for kids who can’t afford them, and looking into working at a thrift shop through a church.
That’s awesome Really respectable! I won’t be going to college this year, kind of self sabotaged myself with fear of failure, but I’m starting to look for volunteer gigs to pass the time. And apply next year, to be a special ed teacher. I’m not in a hurry though, I need to put my mental health first.
Good thinking. It is hard to get over that fear of failure. I am barely over it from high school. My meds have been working very well for me as I transition into them. I think you would make an awesome teacher.
Thanks I think so too, my whole family thinks so too, my therapist thinks so too, my friends think so too, I’m just afraid of starting something and failing miserably, I should just do it and get on with it, but heck, didn’t happen that way. Next year it is!
Glad your meds are working? What meds are you on again?
So happy to hear this! I remember back when you weren’t on meds! You’ve come a long way and should be very proud of yourself.
We are all proud of you!
It’s totally understandable to back off a little bit, especially since you’re going through such a big transition with your awesome, new University.
I’ll keep in mind that @Sharp might be in the shadows, doing sharpy stuff, keeping tabs, giving likes lol.
Best wishes to you and your academic career! Go get those A-grades, sharpy! Here’s a virtual gift: a book on careers in the STEM field.
