Loxapine vs clozapine

I’m not the greatest candidate for Clozapine. But I’m sick of being afraid etc. I read loxapine is chemically similar to Clozapine without as bad of side effects. Has anyone taken loxapine? Or loxapine and Clozapine at different times? What was your experience?

Isn’t there another name for Loxapine? I was typing and remember that.

@JustTrish Adasuve is the brand name in the US

Hmmmm maybe I thought wrong. Oh, well. I’ve been wrong before lol

Dont know what the differences are but Loxapine is VERY sedating. 10mg will knock you right out. And they put people on 300 - 500mg. Hopefully Clozapine isnt that sedating…

Oh, with Loxapine you have a higher chance of getting EPS.

No problem. I was on 50mg daily and it was good. Problem was I was really sedated and didn’t want to do anything. It was good for positives though, but amplified the negatives.

@anon57786250 I started on Haldol at 5 mg for one week, then 10 mg for one week and then 15 mg and I wasn’t sedated at all. Loxapine might not sedate me.

I hope for that and Clozapine for me. Try out Loxapine, it might be effective for you @LilyoftheValley.

From personal experience, if the AP is sedating that means it’s working.

Could be wrong though.
