What’s the lowest dose of antipsychotics that you are stable on?
I’m on 5mg Olanzapine but aiming for 3.75 mg next.

A lot of your threads are on the same/similar topics (ie. reduction in olanzapine dose), so might be good to consolidate this into a single thread. You should probably speak with your medical team about reducing your dose in any case. Good luck!
I have spoken with them and the CPN will review medication I’m four months. I’m looking for answers now though.
I’m mainly interested in medication, recovery and the effects of the illness rather than everyday topics that people mainly post, such as what they’ve eaten for dinner.
Still hoping to make a full recovery and haven’t given up hope yet.
This forum is not really for dispensing medical advice or ‘answers’. You probably shouldn’t reduce your dose to 3.75mg when this goes against the advice of your medical team.
A single thread to seek advice and support on similar topics related to your experience of the illness and recovery might be a good idea. I don’t know that anyone will be able to predict whether you will relapse on a lower dose of medication though - so you might not get the advice you seek. Also, every individual is different so just because one person didn’t relapse for x amount of time doesn’t mean it will be your experience. I genuinely think you need to accept the unknown and not get ahead of yourself by trying to predict the future. Take care
Yeah I think you’re probably right in that I need to accept the uncertainties of the situation. But all the information I have received has given me an idea of the range of possibilities for my situation.
Also I think my situation has been compounded by the loss of my partner of 11 years and then moving out of the family home and no longer seeing my son so much.
Massive changes to my life and now I can only depend upon myself, which is difficult because I can’t depend on myself with certainty anymore.
Also asking these questions has helped me to reduce from 10mg to 5mg Olanzapine. Which has improved my quality of life.
If this drug doesn’t agree with you then there are many others that are kinder than Olanzapine’s side effects
My main problem with the drug is a lack of appetite and a lack of emotion / dopamine. Also I do feel tired in the morning. Other then that I feel relatively well and am worried another ap could be worse.
On 3.75 I almost felt completely normal, but had a tingling sensation and also started to have slightly negative thoughts similar to how I used to think before my prodomal stage.
Also I haven’t given up hope of being able to taper off completely.
i am on 100mg seroquel … along 1 mf ativan…
What is the recommended dosage range for that?
300mg to 400mg…
5 mg of olanzapine helped me but didnt fully rid me of the voices, 10 mg did then when i quit and went back on it i was on 15 mg after a few months because of thc while on it. now im on 9mg paliperidone, which is equal to like 15 mg olanzapine tho i dont have anywhere near as heavy of side effects
That’s good you’ve got rid of side effects… how long did you manage to stay off of aps?
So you are on a really low dose, that’s really good you’ve managed that. I’m glad things are going well.
i wasnt off aps just went on a different med when i quit olanzapine, it was basically worse than quitting ap’s for me at least. ive quit meds a few times but longest ive been off is 2 months, the past 3 times i quit meds it was less than 2 weeks
That’s why I’m reluctant to change aps, as I know it could be worse. I felt physically weak on aripiprazole, but don’t feel that way now.
Did you lose insight and relapse after quitting aps then or did you manage to take them again before that?
I managed five months off of aps before relapse, but have a feeling it may be less next time.
