Hard to choose. Pre-2000s, I would’ve gone with Star Wars, as I’d gotten all the expanded universe fiction up to a point, and love lightsabers and the force and space battles.

But I think Lord of the Rings has more internal consistency with it’s fiction, in no small part due to the influence of the Tolkien Estate in preserving their original works and the intent of JRR Tolkien’s vision.

Star Wars is all over the place and ever changing depending on what the person writing the work wants.

I chose Lord of the Rings. I was around 15 when the Fellowship came out in theaters. I did a report on The Return of the King in school although I’m not a very good reader. I did read the first 2 books not that long ago.

Star Wars is great though I just think I was sucked into Lord of the Rings more.

Yeah, I didn’t read the novels, the Hobbit/LotR until after the movies came out. Really good books.

I love star wars too, mostly the old stuff.

I worked at a movie theater when Attack of the Clones came out. Got to watch it early. I heard a Bobba Fett movie got canceled because the Han Solo movie flopped. Is that true @anon51414962?

i said star wars because i dont recall ever seeing the lord of the rings but i feel like im missing out so a few days ago i found the extended versions trilogy and i started watching the first one but each movie is almost 4 hours so im gonna need to set aside some time to watch them completely

I said Star Wars. I love the original Trilogy from 1977-83, for which I was around. Saw them all in local theaters the first time.

I tried reading LOTR in middle school and it was too hard for me lol.

I like LOTR much better than Star Wars. Both are good though.

I just watched the Last Jedi and it was amazing!

I watched the first Hobbit movie and parts of the second. I think I missed the third. I really have to watch that all the way through.
