Looking for advice

I’m exhausted. I feel completely depleted from having been busy 7 days a week for the last 2 weeks between Dr appointments, cleaning, and work

Tomorrow I will be doing more medical testing.

Saturday night I’m supposed to work the closing shift.

Should I see if someone can cover for me or buck up and deal with it and go in?

I’m just so tired.

And I have to get up really early tomorrow and drive over an hour away for the testing.

I would ask if someone can cover, a medical appointment is a legitimate reason…

@AppleKidd , tomorrow, Friday, is my next appointment.

I close Saturday night but don’t have an appointment that day.

I’m just completely worn out

Ask for video consultation if possible

Does the company know about your illness?

I just took leave to take care of my health first.

Because only if I am present the work will be done.

If I am not mentally present!

You know there won’t be much output.

Ask for a leave till you get better.

And yes ask for loss of pay leave.

Just my understanding on what needs to be done.

You will know better just take a break and think what needs to be done like right now.

I usually go for a short walk .

I would see if someone can cover for you. Can your husband help with cleaning?

@An_the-c-ology I don’t want to take a leave. I need the money. My work doesn’t have paid leave

@HollyHobby I’ve been cleaning my sister’s house. I finished today.

I’ve decided to wait until after my day today at the hospital.

If I’m just as exhausted or worse, I’ll take tomorrow off.

I just feel bad calling in.

Plus, there are only 2 people who can close for me so if I call in there may be no one who can cover for me. If that happens, I’ll just go in anyway.

I don’t know your exact situation but I’d say if you can take the time off. You have to prioritize your health. Modern society wants you to be a work machine but we need to be flexible. That’s why a lot of us got sz in the first place. Too much stress.

That sounds good. I’m really proud of you for working because I know it can be hard.

I second that. You’re a superstar and I hope they recognise this

@POET @HollyHobby @AppleKidd I am going to try to sleep in tomorrow and see how I feel then.

If no one can cover, I’ll just go in regardless

I suppose I’m a bit late for this specific situation, but for the future, the thing that helped me with that guilt was this thought:

I am looking out for the company by giving them advanced notice that I will need recovery time. I recognize that it is better for them in the long run if I take breaks when I need them, than if I work nonstop until I can no longer come in and then quit with no notice. They will be better prepared if I let them know in advance when I need breaks, so they can prepare.

My job coach told me to do that when I was trying to go back to work. That was before my physical health took another screwy turn.

My shift is tonight so it hasn’t happened yet. I’m deciding now what I’ll do
