Sure, I’d like to have friends but that would be work - to be nice to look at, to have something to talk about, to be a good listener even when the subject doesn’t interest you, to be on time, and to not cling. So, it’s a lot of effort to get a friend and keep one.

I talk to my mom on the phone every day or two. Don’t you live around other people? It seems like it would be easy to get to know someone. I live in severe isolation but not by choice. People can adapt to being alone but it’s not a real substitution to being with others.
Makes me rather not have friends at all.

I am not lonely but I am lazy lol
I do live with others but am in my own room and withdrawn most of the time. I was a withdrawn kid. It’s part of my personality. It’s a fear of getting hurt again.
