Live online TV, once a bargain, is getting more expensive

The local library is a better bargain. I’ve cut myself down to two hours per week of TV.

I just stuck to using free air TV.

I use a tiny indoor antenna in my apartment that has a built in amplifier, and to that I added a 15db external amplifier. These days that gives me an average of about 37 free channels. It used to be over 50, but I think that some newly constructed downtown buildings have now blocked some of those channels from the New York area.

Anyhow, I have not paid a penny for TV for well over a decade.

I managed to find the hot spot in my apartment, which is about 1 square foot in size. Place the antenna out side of that area and quickly it drops down to about 8 or 9 channels.

I do pay $10 a month for Netflix though, and $30 a month for internet.

If you enjoy watching sports you need cable. I don’t care for the other channels.

I haven’t had cable or anything for like 15 years , I use my brothers Netflix ocassionaly. I got rid of my TV last year actually so if I watch something it’s on my computer.
