Hey guys, as above, i think both have their pros and cons! Thoughts?
Without the Internet I would not have so many eBooks, so much information about things, and such a big music library from YouTube and other sources
People actually communicated better before I think. But internet gives people information so much more easily now. So they’re both good
Without the internet I wouldn’t have met my husband and have our family.
with the net life is definitely much better
I lead a pretty minimalist life…no cell phone…etc. My only outreach is this website.
I spent my whole childhood outdoors…bike riding…road hockey…the forest…etc.
The Internet is a great tool for information and connecting people for sure, though. Like everything in life, moderation is the key.
I think It’s like saying what was life like before the microwave. It was less convenient.
Thank you for great question, Sean. Let’s talk about it. ![]()
Internet can hypnotize and occupy our brains turning people into addicts really quickly. Life without the internet is according to nature, where staying constantly plugged to matrix is crooked and fake.
No surprise… My grandparents lived the most fulfilling and happy lives because every waking moment they spent on something that was meaningful (working on farm, hunting for food, being in nature, etc) it made a profound difference on living successful life.
I applaud people who can put down the phone, turn off computer, and go about their day without thinking about it.
I’m also looking to unplug from internet completely, so that I can immerse myself to activities I love without any distractions.
Everything in moderation is good.
Good answer. But it also depends from the context.
When it comes to actual addiction abstinence is the only antidote that works.
How can you study without internet?
You need to use the university website.
I have had issues with the internet my whole life.
It is definitly negative for me. However not the idea of internet in itself, but it is the way it is constructed…that anyone can post anything and everyone else has accsess to it.
That’s not how internet ought to be in my opinion. Conent should be qualitychecked. Adult stuff should be on a different platform etcetera. But then people start screaming that it’s a violation of freedom or whatever. But what about freedom to choose away what we do not want to have access to? isn’t that equally important?
I like internet for information, studying and the likes, but it is very addictive.
Luckily I have found a program that allows me to make a “miniweb”. I have a few select sites that are necessary and interesting. And I can also make a timetable for when internet should be active in my computer. With this it’s much easier to get away from the computer and do other important stuff.
Also I think not spending too much time online is important for my mental health. On my phone I don’t have internet at all.
Better. The only porn I had access to when I was growing up was stealing my dad’s Playboy magazines.
I’m not trying to throw to anyone’s face.
If the situation you describing would present itself to me. I would have a portable hard drive and I would walk to library/internet cafe to use the university website. It’s fairly simple and not hard to do.
But since it doesn’t apply to me, I guess I don’t need to think about it.
So much better now, we can look stuff up instead of listening to someone guessing about something, streaming music and tv, communicating with people around the world, memes. Before memes we would just quote the latest comedy movie until a new movie came out.
iam 44 and i remember life with out internet.
there was more Magic on the air and there was more mystery when u were meeting someone, now u can be reached 24 hours a day and night.U comunicate more and often dont say something important.
I started using the commercial Internet in 1993 in America. This has improved communications.
İ was more ignorant before internet.information about something was bliss.any piece of information were make difference about your social class.now information is more cheap and accesible so we are more wisdom people.
Having had a computer of some form or another since 10, it’s great to have. Far cry from dial up and using dodgy bulletin boards in the 1980s
