I am not so much a G but definitely a Q and A.

My family is pretty accepting of me for which I am grateful.

But all in all I am a human being with thoughts and feelings and it is awesome to be able to come to this forum everyday without fear of trolls and bashers.

Thank you Mods!

:grinning:

Our friends kids are making us Tye Died Tshirts when we visit them for Pride in Colorado.
She asked us what we wanted printed on them.
Me: Stonewall 1969.
Spouse: Pride was a Riot.
I wanted to remember what got us this far.

I’m asexual but identity as Gay as I would much prefer a platonic relationship with another man.

Theres a word for that…i wouldnt mind a platonic relationship with a woman and am also asexual…reddit told me that’s called an asexual lesbian haha

then there was something like homo-romantic asexual, meaning u like to be romantic with someone of the same gender and cuddling and sharing a bed, but not sexual. then there was also aromantic asexual…i can’t remember all i learned

Thanks for this thread. Yesterday I was wearing a hat with rainbow colors and someone called me the f word, and it didn’t rhyme with duck. I’m generally not too open about my pansexual identity, and the hat was a fishing hat where the rainbow could mimic a sunset, but I guess it wasn’t as subtle as I thought it was.

I have thick skin, and I’m not worried about being assaulted as I generally look scarier than the idiots throwing hate and I’m trained and can handle myself in a scrap. The atmosphere is changing out there, so stay strong and safe friends.

We’re in California - we’re not allowed to put a Rainbow flag out in our neighborhood.
Doesn’t feel like a free country.
I understand the rule and rather not bring trouble.

Actually I don’t want to go to Pride.
This is a social obligation I need accommodations for.
I won’t be able to handle a crowd.

Thank you for this thread! Things are getting rough for people in the LGBT community and I’m honestly worried for this coming Pride month.

Stay strong, friends. :muscle: :sparkling_heart:

Yes. Our landlord told us we can’t. They own the home. They are friendly and said there are other gay neighbors and this was a new rule dictated by the HOA a few years ago around election time. All of the neighborhoods here are HOA.

Also the culture in California is to not put pride flags on cars too. Because it’s too decisive. Only American flags. People are afraid of getting vandalized is what I heard.

We only have been back since living in Missouri for over a decade and did not expect CA to be like this.

I thought I was lesbian, and tried to hide it due to religious and family issues and dated men and married a man young. But I’m actually attracted to my current (2nd) husband so apparently I’m bisexual. I’m still attracted to women though. I’ve read about it being on a spectrum and I still definitely lean more towards being lesbian though for sure. My husband is the only man I’ve met whom I find physically attractive. My family didn’t support me at all after my divorce while I was dating women. I had no support from my church. Lost them all. And I lost my friends when I started dating women too. It was ugly. Now I only associate with people who aren’t against the lgbtqa community. Now that I’m married to a man, my family is kinder to me but guaranteed they wouldn’t be if I were with a woman. That hurts me deeply.

Do you have a copy of the HOA CC&Rs? Landlords are required to provide that to renters of homes in neighborhoods with an HOA. Does the HOA prohibit all flags to be displayed in your neighborhood?

I live in a neighborhood that has an HOA. The HOA allows flags of all kinds to be displayed.

I used to go to a really awesome church in Kansas City that was very friendly to the LGBQT community. We even had gay church members and couples. I really miss it.
