I was just prescribed Lexipro and taken off Prozac. Just wondering if it has worked for you?
I have tried Lexipro(Escitalopram) for depression. My doctor prescribed it when I was suffering from depression. It is good for depression and anxiety but I stopped it because it was causing sexual dysfunction and loss of libido. Now I am taking Zoloft for my OCD and depression.
whether or not it worked for other people doesn’t say if it will work for you. For me I donno if it would’ve worked or not bc the side effects I got from it were so severe I only lasted 2 days on it. It gave me terrible anxiety, made me feel like someone was constantly gagging me and made my jaw clench.
In April of 2019 I was suicidal, and my pdoc prescribed Lexipro. I got better after several months and stopped taking the Lexipro. It seemed to work fine.
As mentioned before, whether the drug will work or not for you, it just depends on the individual. I can speak from my personal experience, as I took every SSRI except citalopram, that escitalopram (Lexapro) is at least is one of the milder drugs when it comes to side effects for most people while being pretty effective at the same time. Escitalopram was one of the few antidepressants that have actually worked on me, but still, that doesn’t mean it must be the same way for you. You just have to find out.
I’m on Lexapro 10 mg. It works okay for anxiety, less so for depression.
Thank you all for your responses!
