I need clothes for tomorrow, so I better get it done,
Have you done yours?
What? no one doing laundry today
I’m doing laundry! Almost done too half a load to still put in the washer
Gack! I hate laundry mostly because I have a hard time getting it down and up.
haha…I do laundry everyday. It’s just dad and I so a small load everyday just to stay ahead of things. Reminds me of this song…
I think I’m the only one that doesn’t know how to to my laundry on this forum.
lol Okay, so, put your clothes into the washing machine, only filling the machine about 50% to 75% of the way. Take some laundry detergent and fill the cap about halfway, then pour the cap into the machine.
I don’t know all of the settings on your washer, so I’ll just do and overview.
Make sure the water is set to warm, the power is set to either casual or normal. Turn pre-soak and deep water wash off and set the number of rinses to 1. If your washer has a setting for size of load, set it to medium if it’s closer to halfway full or large if it’s closer to 3/4 of the way full. Now look at the wash cycle. It should be the largest knob on the washer. Set that to casual, close the door, and press start.
Okay, dryer…
Once your clothes are finished washing, take them out as quickly as possible and place them in the dryer (if you leave your clothes in the washing machine for too long, they’ll beging to stink of mildew and you’ll have to wash both the washer and your clothes again.
The dryer is more straight forward. Set the temperature to either high or heavy duty, depending on your model. Look at the main knob (should be the largest) and set it to timed dry. Turn the knob to 60 (as in 60 minutes), then start the dryer. Make sure you first put a dryer sheet in to prevent static, but mostly because they make your clothes smell good.
I know this set of instructions is rather crude. I was too lazy to go downstairs and see exactly what each knob was called, so if you have questions, feel free to ask. Good luck with your new chore, lol, because once you do this on your own for the first time, you will be expected to do it on your own from that point forward. So basically, bookmark this reply, but don’t use this information until you’re ready to be responsible for your own laundry.
Thanks @Sardonic. I don’t know because my mom does them. And she won’t let anyone else touch the thing.
That sounds annoying. You’re 16, not 6. I know I wouldn’t want my mom digging through my clothes as she washed and dried them, Are you a sophomore or a junior? College is coming real soon; it’ll be here before you know it. Doesn’t your mom think that it might be a good idea for you to learn how to do your own laundry? I mean, granted, it’s not very complicated, but it would be good to get into the habit, know which settings you like, not having your mom touching all of your underwear…
I’m a junior, and yeah I see your point
I did all of my laundry on Sunday.
All my laundry is washed, but I have 4 loads to fold and put away. That’s the worst part in my opinion. I could wash and dry all day no problem. But I loathe putting it away.
I’m teaching my kids how to do theirs. The 8 year old wants to but she is too short to reach.
My husband is really good at getting out stains. He washes and I put them away
I don’t bother. Clean clothes get dumped into (or *ehem* near) my suitcase, dirty clothes go into my basket. To be fair, I used to fold my pants and hang my shirts up, but we keep moving and I’m certain that we’re not done, so it makes the most sense for me to keep all my clothes in a suitcase.
I believe I was 11 or 12 when I started doing my own laundry. I probably could’ve kept having my parents do it for a few more years, but allof my friends did their own laundry, so I decided that I wanted to do mine too. What a stupid child I was.
