Do you do your laundry by yourself

I do not, there is a small laundry place near me and I take my clothes there sometimes.

I’m in the middle of doing it right now!! Four or 5 loads. Waiting for two loads to be done so I can put them in the dryer.

Yeap, I don’t really have a choice in the matter, totally despise ironing though so I don’t do the ironing often.

yes I do my own laundry…I just take it next door to my parents house and do it there though.

I’ve had problems with laundry in the past. The one that used to get me… I would accidently put the dirty clothing in the dryer, then I’d put them in the washer… then I’d wonder why they were so wet when they were done.

I’d add too much soap.

I pick the wrong temperature and shirk stuff

I’d forget to add soap, or add too much soap.

Then my sis started doing all my laundry for me.

But now I’ve been learning how to do laundry for myself. I still have laundry mishaps, but I’m getting better at it.

Hey Surprised, how about getting an index card or other piece of paper, and writing down each step on it, and tape it above the washer? If you want to get even fancier, then write down on the same piece of paper(or a different one) how to sort them.

“whites”(underwear and socks):high temperature.
Shirts(shrinkable) permanent press or colors.
Pants:colors.
etc.

Have your sister make out the card for you while you are sitting there for exact temperatures.

I do my own laundry. However due to losing the instruction booklet I tend to just use one setting and shove colours in with whites. Laundry is the only household task I do with any regularity.
I have an ongoing paranoia about the washing machine breaking down with use and not being able to plumb in another(which is true) so try to use it as little as possible to delay the inevitable. At one point it got so bad I was washing clothes in the bath, coincided with a moderate bout of akathisia/inner restlessness with anxiety ramped up to the max.

I do the laundry for everyone at my house. All except my brother. He’s very particular about his clothes.

No, my mom does the laundry. I think I remember how to do it. I did it when I was like 16 because I was getting more homosexual by the day and had clothes with special instructions. Now I am not the fit and slim type of guy, I am the muscular type of guy, so I cant fit into young people’s fashion brand pants, my thighs are too bulky. I do wear fitted t-shirts, I wear a medium but its a snug fit, I should wear a large. I am not modest and have always been pretty vain since I left Catholic school.

i do the washing and drying for everyone in the house, including my daughters boyfriend lol. i don’t do the ironing though. i pay my mum to do that. xxx

I do my own laundry. I hate folding so I’m usually wrinkly.

I do my own laundry - I too throw in the whites with colored laundry. I also hate to fold - my shirts are kind of wrinkled

I actually give my little sister five dollars to wash my laundry for me and hang everything up. She’s trying to go to Disney World at the end of the school year with her cheer team so she’s doing anything for money. (shes old enough to get a job, but shes like one of those rare geniuses and a cheerleader so my parents feel she has enough on her plate)

I always liked doing laundry. I separated colors and temps. I would scrub out stains before putting them in the water. Then I started falling down the stairs (our laundry is in the basement). …and when I went into the hospital my husband took over the laundry. He throws everything in together and dries everything on high heat. And he refuses to let me do my own laundry…All I need him to do is to carry it down and back.

A paste made with baking soda and water will get underarm stains out of shirts.

I wanted thank you for the idea. I’ve now got some note cards taped over the machines.

my mum does the laundry these last few years but I will have to do it myself she also pays a cleaner to go in my flat once a week so I guess I’m a little spoiled

And lucky…

I used to when I was single. Never had a problem with bleeding colours together. Now that I’m married, I keep on top of the towels, but leave some of the female clothing alone because “(I) wash it wrong.” No, I didn’t, but not something to pick a fight over, so i sort it into its own pile and run the towels and blankets through. And my own clothes.

i once washed my mobile phone per accident.

didnt work anymore but man, was it clean.!
