Latuda withdrawal or Abilify side-effects

It’s been only the second day that I dropped 37mg Latuda and Zyprexa 2.5mg and started with 5mg Abilify. I notice brain-fog, cold feet and a little bit hypertension right after taking it in the morning, I don’t like that drugged up feeling but I guess that’s normal and will pass eventually.
However, this is the second day that right after I eat dinner I get really unwell. Really bad anxiety, my thoughts get scrambled, unable to talk, when I do, I stutter and I get a sort of severe restless/agitated feeling that feels horrible and I need to pop two Clonazepam’s, lay down, shut my eyes and come to “rest”.
I know for sure it’s not a withdrawal symptom from Zyprexa but have no idea about Latuda withdrawal but I doubt it.

Does anyone recognize this reaction to Abilify?

(On the bright side, I notice a strong antipsychotic and antidepressant effect from Abilify.)

Abilify makes my hands warm, and my hands used to be cold without abilify. Abilify does make me a bit paranoid, it’s a different kind of paranoid.
Abilify takes away depression for me. Some people get high blood pressure from it, but I haven’t had that issue. Also abilify can cause bordem, but not in everyone.

Were you ever on a low dosage like 5mg or 10mg? If so, what difference does (5/10mg vs 30mg) it make on your symptoms and personality?

I get extreme anxiety on Abilify,

I think its a pretty well established side effect.

Last day I took it at bedtime and feel so much better today. The only thing that has occurred to me today (symptom wise) is that my word-filter (so the speak) sometimes malfunctions. Like I want to say something, and I either stutter, say it wrong or (almost) say something different than what I think. I guess I need to up my dosage soon or add another antipsychotic before I embarrass myself in front of people.

Can you try to explain with what you’re trying to say with different kind of paranoid?

Yes, one thing I like, is it’s antidepressant effect from day 1 and in combination with Parnate (MAOI class antidepressant) it works quite smoothly. Haha yes, I’ve noticed that the past two days, it makes me bored too but it’s a different kind of bored that doesn’t make me depressed.

Yeah I saw many posts in regards it causing (severe) anxiety. I had it too the past couple of days except for today where I took it before bed last night. And I also take Clonazepam for anxiety/paranoia so it should be manageable for me.

I was never on low dose. We started by 30mg. So I can’t know.

Guess you switched from another AP to Abilify? How do you feel/function on 30mg? What symptoms did it help with?

I get paranoid but my heart doesn’t race. It’s like I worry about things sometimes but then it goes away. My pulse is a bit high but it’s in safe range.

The bordem is terrible on abilify. Things like video games are boring but social situations are better. I guess it helps me shine in different areas.

I switched from 15mg risperidone to abilify 30mg. It helps with voices even though it can’t stop the running commentary

Than I guess it’s also anxiety related. Maybe try it alongside something that manages anxiety?

Usually when I’m bored I ruminate thoughts over and over again and get depressed and go work out. I haven’t tried videogames yet on Abilify (will try it today) but I tend to gamble ffs… What can I do, it’s a side-effect :joy:

I hate that the running commentary

15mg Risperdal is quite high. Just an idea have you tried lowering your dosage or tried adding another AP to the mix? For example, my symptoms get worse when I’m on a high dosage of Zyprexa, I hit the spot when I’m on a lower dosage + another AP.

I’m still in my experimental phase with Abilify and need to find the right dosage. If it ain’t enough to control my symptoms, I’m going to add another (low dosage) AP.
