I am having a hard time with this IUD. Ever since getting it in I have no libido at all. My skin has gotten bad again. My mood has been glum. I’ve been eating more than normal. I have the liletta hormonal one.
Due to all this I have been thinking about switching to the non hormonal copper IUD. However, I already naturally have a very heavy period and bad cramps, which is why my doctor didnt recommend it to me in the first place because she said it could make it much worse, and I’m scared of that.
Do I risk having nightmare neverending periods for up to a year or try to find a way to improve my situation now? I dont know how to improve my situation. I’ve started taking my birth control pills because they helped with my skin but I’m worried about the amount of hormones I’m currently putting in me.
The doctor got back to me and told me to just give it more time. In my experience lowered libido is not a temporary side effect that goes away over time and I have not read a single experience where the person’s libido came back after some time on the IUD they always had to get it removed. The libido thing is what I’m most bothered about.
Cant do the implant my narcolepsy med decreases the effectiveness. Tried the shot but it gave me horrible PMS, really bad mood swings that were hurting my relationship. And it is also not safe to be on long term as it leeches your bones.
I had a very bad experiece with IUD. I tried contraceptive pills and they made me feel depressed, with suicidal toughts. Now I use condoms. For me condoms are the best option.
