I find if I get very little sleep like 3 or 4 hours I wake up in a hypomania state that progresses until I get atleast 8 hours of sleep.

Waking up is always the most stressed out irrational part of my day… it’s not manic though…
The best thing I can do is sleep until I wake up naturally then go back to sleep for another 30 minutes… that’s best way to wake up.
Yes exactly the same thing happens to me when I sleep less than 8 hours. But I never sleep less than 5 hours. I need weed or PRN pills to stop it. I’ve never let it run it’s course before but it progresses until I stop it.
If I get 3 to 4 hours of sleep, my moods will suffer - getting very moody.
It’s a vicious circle…
Less sleep… or forget the Seroquel… wake up hyper…
Which makes me sleep less… which will throw my into a Manic spike… then I’m up all night… or most of the night as my mind races… and the energy spikes… and I find myself rearranging the furniture at 2:00 a.m.
It takes a crash or a lot of work to get back on sleep schedule…
sometimes I have to take a little extra Seroquel to stop the spinning in my head and get some sleep…
