He suffered with bipolar disorder but never was on Lithium.
He was also a heroin addict.
I would bet good money that he was not schizophrenic.

He suffered from depression. Some people question his death might have been murder because the suicide note he left wasn’t his writing. I watched a documentary on nirvana.
