I have a book called Touched With Fire: Manic Depressive Illness And The Artistic Temperament and it is one of my favorites. It is all about the link between bipolar disorder and artistic accomplishment.
Not all of them are faking but very few of them experienced psychosis.
Depression is common with bipolar type 2 disorder.
Many of them have this variant.
How many famous people with schizophrenia? One…or two
We try to make us more valuable when listing the. famous people. Truth is - most schizophrenics are more handicapped
than those with other mental illnesses. However talented we are -
I could have sworn I read somewhere that Rivers Cuomo from Weezer had bipolar but when I tried to find it all I found was an interview where the journalist suggested it based on his patterns (he said something like feeling lame-o for 6 months)
Yes, I guess bi-polar strikes people in hugely disparate ways. I wonder if the people listed were officially diagnosed or was the label attached to them after they were dead?
I have doubts if some the people on the list were really bi-polar. Is there such a thing as mild Bi-Polar? I can’t fathom how arguably the most successful singer ever, Frank Sinatra could be bi-polar.
The attributes of mania are extreme but can be kept secret. And if there name is on a list there’s an equally bizarre reason they’re classified as bipolar
I’m currently in some low level psychotic/manic state. I’m far more aware of these things today then I was before. Something is not right but all things seem to be ok and getting better
