I have decided to practice keyboard for approximately two hours a day. And today is my first day. In the daytime, I will practice my repertoire of nine songs. And in the evening I will practice my newly assigned songs. This should really help my playing fluidity.
And, I really should practice half of my time on the piano and the other half of my time on the keyboard. That’s what my piano teacher recommended.
The following is my repertoire:
Arietta by Mozart
Sleeper’s Awake by Bach
Farandole by Georges Bizet
Love Me Tender as made popular by Elvis Presley
Lover Man as made popular by Billie Holliday
Ain’t Misbehavin by Thomas Waller and Harry Brooks
Smoke Gets In Your Eyes by Jerome Kern
Hard Day’s Night by John Lennon and Paul Mc Cartney
Fascination by F.D. Marchetti
Nope, no breaks. I count out loud with my voice as I play. I don’t use a metronome, although I have a digital one. My problem is my hearing is so bad that I can’t hear the metronome above the keyboard as I play, so, I don’t use it.
I’ve played for 9 years now and I’m Really good. Self taught myself by watching YouTube videos. I can just watch and play. Never figured out how to read notes LOL just never bothered with it except a few occasions many years ago.
That’s truly amazing, @SailorTheFox59! I’ve been taking private lessons for 12 years now and I can still hardly play. I don’t know how people like you do it. I’m amazed.
