And I am getting so good. It’s really making a big difference in my playing, I think. Two hours is how long my teacher would practice when he was in college majoring in piano. I try to break up my practice into two chunks of time. I practice for an hour in the daytime and then an hour again at night. I have to do this because I have a ten song repertoire that I have to keep fresh on, in addition to my assignments that I have to work on too. As I build up more of a repertoire, I will have to practice for longer and longer periods.
It sounds like you’re doing great @SkinnyMe. The fact that you can sustain the concentration and focus required for an hour for a time is impressive. The discipline you are exhibiting is cool as well. Good job and keep it up!
Thank you very much for noticing, @eighteyedspy23!
Good for you @SkinnyMe!
Yes, that’s great. I still have trouble when trying to do creative things for longer. I like to write. I sit and type drivel all day, but on stopping and perusing what I’ve written, I will spy a block of inspired stuff I can use online. So I copy and paste it into posts two or three times daily.
Scale practicing is mostly good for chops and performance, of course. Good for you, and continue!
