I now have eleven pieces in my repertoire and it feels great. I’m soon to have thirteen. I told my piano teacher, that I wasn’t performance level yet, and he told me, “You’re getting there”. What a great compliment from such a super talented pianist as he is! He doesn’t know it, but, I treasure his every positive comment.
Gina u are really enjoying… i am glad ur are happy…!!!
Did you learn “A Hard Day’s Night” yet? I bet that’s fun, and I’d love to hear it from you.
Yes, I can play it. I play it out of a fake book. It is very fun.
Thank you, @far_cry0.
Thank you, @Borath.
Awesome @SkinnyMe - happy to hear you’re happy!
That is really impressive. I love playing guitar but learned long ago I don’t have a brain for it! So glad your doing so well! It’s such a good thing to be able to do so well done to you!
Well, @rogueone, I probably don’t have a brain for piano/keyboard either but I refused to give up all these years and here I am today- playing all of these songs. You just have to have perseverance and consistency.
you are already an inspiration to me. I admire you.
Why thank you @green5.
I’m about to give up my pursuit in critical writing because I felt neurologically tired all the time. But now when I saw the progress you’ve made in playing piano I was encouraged to keep trying.
Yes, I encourage you to keep at it. The more you do anything the better you get at it.
I just got a 76 key Yamaha keyboard about a month ago. I love it because the keys are just slightly smaller than a real piano and fit my smaller hands better. I bought a cheap pedal on eBay but had to add a small stickon bumper pad because it was clicking loud.
The keyboard even can run on 6 D cell batteries which I can get at a local Dollar Tree store.
I like to print chord sheets from Ultimate Guitar and other sites and play along. I am not very good at quickly reading normal notation, but know chords and scales pretty well.
There are a lot of really good free lessons and tips on YouTube.
Sweet @SkinnyMe I just got keyboard from cleaning out a former tenants apartment. I’m afraid I might like it. Just different than a didgeridoo or every other wind instrument.
That’s wonderful, @keepsimple! I’m glad you got a keyboard and are practicing!
Thank you so much, @ThePickinSkunk, for calling me “sweet”. That’s very nice of you. And I’m glad you like your keyboard.
I always wanted to learn clair de lune. I bet ur really coming far with 2 hours a day. Keep practicing u’ll do fine and be able to play whatever u want
who says you actually have to perform, sometimes learning something or doing something for just you is nice. That’s why I color. Weird coloring as an adult, but it’s a form of creativity. I also like writing, which some day I hope I can get paid for, but right now it looks like it’s just for me…unless you count my free blog about dealing with Schizophrenia/Schizo-affective disorder and all my other health issues…I do that on Blogger.com just in some small way I manage to help someone else.
