Article on Keto diet and mental illness
Keto diets help with mood regulation but they are pretty bad for one’s physical health
Can’t read it all, too tired after working all day. But interesting. Will read more later.
I did it before. It helped tons. My psycho-pms disappeared. I was calm and happy. Then a few people got angry at me for getting stronger, and tried to make me stop. I quit. And relapsed.
Now I’m trying again and it has a rather immediate effect. My energy and stability and mood are lots better. I happily worked a full day and quickly went to the nearby sauna and did groceries and cooked. Like a normie. That is not normal for me.
I feel a bit stupid…I’ve said this for 5 years or so…and only succeed now. That’s a waste.
Actually I might be on a semi Keto diet
I consume little carbs
Some popcorn and Brussel Sprouts from time to time
I went higher fat for a while, but added olive oil, nuts, seeds and eggs for the fat. Lost weight.
For low carbs, the “new” Atkins diet is also an option. It allows non starchy vegetables, more protein and some fats. The old Atkins seemed unhealthy to me. The new Atkins allows for plant protein, if desired, plus healthy veggies and fats. On it, plant fiber is subtracted from total carbs to produce a “net carb” number. The more fiber in a carb, the healthier.
I am also on time-restricted eating, which has lowered my appetite.
