Just rec'd a piece of hardware for my bass

It’s the part known as the bridge. It is mounted at the end of the body, and is where the strings are anchored. The strings pass over the string saddles. The string heights and intonation are fully adjustable.

The to-do about this high-mass bridge is the observation that it has a lot to do with tone quality. This one, manufactured by Hipshot, is finished in black and has brass saddle inserts.

Dunno if the pic worked or not

Very cool. What sort of music do you like playing?

I’ve had to start my life over, so for now it’s church hymns.

But eventually, hard rock and progressive. Rush, King Crimson, etc.

I’ve mounted it already, swapped out the stock bridge. It sounds pretty good to me.
