getting my niece and nephews amazon gift cards and money for their college fund.

I only get the local kids stuff, the ones that live on the other side of the country I don’t do anything for.

We don’t give presents amongst the adults. Just the kids get gifts.

I’m sure they’ll appreciate the money as a gift  .

that’s a good way to do it. I get my folks stuff when I have the money, may even get my brother something this year. its not every year I buy for them.

I don’t even need to get the kids something really, their parents and grandparents give them plenty…but since I don’t have any kids of my own i’ll get them something too

Money is always a well received gift. I don’t think it’s lacking in sentiment at all. It’s like a gift card for anywhere!

I hate it. You have to go to town to buy gifts.

One Christmas I bought my presents on Amazon, and it was all cheap crap.

I might just do what you’re doing @anon94176359

gift cards are really good esp if its something they are into like game or even tv or music, i think i’ll do that this year for my 3 Nephews, i’ll ask my Sister what they like and say i’m getting them gift cards, my Mum and Sis will be easy  they get a score from me and cards all round lol.

i tried to do the shoebox appeal but it was over before i could get anything, it was for poor folk over in Romania, i sent one a few years ago and its a nice thing to do.

Every year I get my niece and daughter $25 gift card for Taco Bell. It’s a fast food restaurant here in the states.

Kids like money @anon94176359.
We give money to the kids in our family.

They like it and it’s easier this way.

I’m with you @anon94176359. It’s gonna be money and gift cards this year. It makes me anxious trying to pick out presents. I never know what to buy!

still thinking of presents I want to give,
also looking for christmas cards

I used to give email Amazon vouchers to my granddaughters and stepdaughter that was sent to my stepdaughter but she said they(granddaughters) always swapped them with her for money. Not enough choice on Amazon apparently ?! Nowadays I give them money . I do Amazon vouchers for all other family members who are online . My brother who likes reading gets a book token sent through the post but ordered online.

Kids these days, it is hard to know what they want or like. I remember a few Christmas’ ago, my partner and i participated in a programme where you buy gifts and food stuffs for disadvantaged families - you know, the ones who wouldn’t have a Christmas because they have so little money. We had a couple of kids to buy for - a girl and a boy. And man was it hard thinking of gifts that they would like. Money is a good way to compensate though, it lets the child decide what they want. I used to always enjoy getting money for my birthdays.

For my two teenagers I give money and a few stocking stuffers.
For my two adult kids I buy gifts since they make their own money plus stocking stuffers.
My extended family we pull names for who we buy for and only spend $20.
No one else gets anything
