Just gave my niece my cheap/first guitar and amp

My sister and niece were just here. Showed them my new guitar stuff and played a little bit. I am jealous of my nieces finger stretch for chords and such. Also, I am currently only using my thumb for picking. She uses all fingers for picking. It makes me a bit jealous of her technique. She said she has been playing for about 3 years though. I’ve been playing closer to 3 months.

Anyway, she only has an acoustic, so I initially said she could borrow the electric and amp for awhile. Changed my mind though and texted her later to say she could keep it and the amp.

3 years is a lot longer than 3 months lets be real. (33 more months than you)
You will continue to get better the more you practise. Be patient with yourself

Cool!

And try not to get too jealous of your nieces’ guitar technique.

Three months is still good especially if you intend to stick with it.

It was a cool thing to do, especially since you bought better stuff. I bought a $100 electric guitar and amp and other accessories and was expecting something inferior to what I got. I can easily spend $100 at the grocery store, food is so expensive! My electric guitar is yellow and I love that. IDK maybe it would sound bad to a seasoned player. The first fret the strings are a little too tight and I don’t believe it can be worked on. But I am satisfied for the price!
