Is fake. Fake ring, fake diamonds. It was too big when I first got it. I never got around to having it sized.
Then I forgot about it because I have on my engagement ring all the time.
My husband found it in the jewelry box. I wore it a few hours and a diamond fell out so I took it to a jewelry shop where I was informed the ring and the diamonds were all fake! No way! Ugh!
That sucks that it was fake. I hope your soon-to-be-husband didn’t pay too much money for fake diamonds! But it’s the love between you two that really matters, not the value of some jewelry.
My wife wouldn’t let me use a real diamond for the big stone. The baguettes are real diamond but the one carrot rock is a CZ.
You can’t really tell the difference. Neither of us wear our wedding bands. I lost 3 of them. I had to take it off and put it in my flight suit every time I went flying. Hard to keep up with.
My wife has real diamond earrings though. She has to have gold or silver earrings or her ears get infected. She can’t wear cheap earrings.
Thanks @Charles_Foster when my husband proposed, he did it with a fake ring from Walmart. He was very honest and open about it. I still said yes! Absolutely yes! He saved up money over time to get the other rings. I am just happy to be with him
He ended up proposing while I was in the hospital with an infected gallbladder with gallstones in the neck of the gallbladder. It was so exciting it really helped me deal with the pain
I have several rings, but the one I want yo be buried with is the one hubby proposed with. It’s the simplest, least expensive one I have, and it means so much to me. I don’t wear any rings because I’ve gained weight and had a horrible experience with a resizing. My husband gave me two rings, heirlooms, when his Mom passed. They are old and unique. One is particularly beautiful, with a very high setting on a single round stone, and the platinum around it looks almost floral because it’s kind of scalloped. Then the band has a design on each side that ends with the rest of the band unadorned, allowing for sizing. The first place we took it to quoted an astronomical price for sizing and asked if they could display the ring in their store. Nope. So we went to a place in the mall. When we got the ring back, they’d stretched the band. But the real problem is that they damaged the design on the side. I was really young (19?) and didn’t know what to do about the situation, so I let it go. I wish I’d sued. It’s undoubtedly a one-of-a-kind. It cracked and split where it was stretchef within a month (though I only wore it to church), and I’ve never gotten it repaired because I’m scared to have it touched. Luckily, the other band was never sized. The entire band has a design, and sizing will tuin it. I just didn’t expect it to ruin the other. I really feel for you regarding the scam. Even if we don’t wear them, our rings can have massive sentimental value, and messing that up for someone is so wrong.
My dad and mom were so poor that they never had an engagement ring, and then my dad traded in a CAR to get her a nice wedding ring. It’s actually a bit gaudy but she still wears it every day. They ended up getting hitched at the county courthouse, only 2 witnesses, and they’ve been married 52 years. That’s love!
