Just been referred to psychologist who specialises in psychosis

My CPN just put my referral in to a local clinical psychologist regarding my paranoia. Apparently she does some stuff (cbt I think) especially suited for folk who experience forms of psychosis.

My meds are pretty good but any way to help the bad times would be welcome.

Cheers @Wave. Is free on the NHS so don’t really have anything to lose. Waiting list is a couple of months though - that’s the price of free medical care though.

Will do. Hope I don’t have to fill in a mood diary or anything. I am useless at that stuff - always forget then end up filling two weeks worth in the morning of the appointment!

Homework would put me off something like that too. Hopefully you won’t have to do any. Or just say you’d rather not do it, maybe they’ll let you off.

I hope it helps.

I have to be honest by stating that I don’t see how it would work because during psychosis thoughts and emotions are so impaired that contact is lost with external reality. However, I did use the word external, so maybe there’s an internal reality that I’m unaware of?
Is anyone aware of internal reality?

I hope to be like this guy you will be receiving services from. Let me know how it goes!
