Jukebox's jukebox and music discussion thread

I always start it at the beginning of 1999 by Prince and listen to it all…especially around the song “automatic” it starts to really groove…

Yes, I was a big Prince fan as a young man. Watched the Purple Rain movie repeatedly as well.

It’s unfortunate that he went on to make “Under a Cherry Moon”. I saw it in a drive in, I believe. I don’t remember much about it, other than it was not good. Maybe it would be better as an adult though. IDK.

I had the sountrack to “under the cherry moon” and loved it…especially “kiss”

“Guero” by Beck on right now…he has tons of good albums…“Stereopathic Soulmanure” is hilarious and has some hard and soft songs…back when he was goofing around more…he’s still putting out good music…I heard his latest “hyperspace” recently…loved it. do you like Beck?

Hi @jukebox,

I have noticed that you post a lot of threads on music. I am combining them into a single music thread for you so that they are easier for others to find and to also keep the new post listing tidier. I’d be grateful if you could post about music here.

Thanks.

I’ve been getting into a band called Skinshape. Well, he’s a one man band – plays all the instruments and sings a little too. But his style is awesome – like, late 60s psychedelic rock combined with chill hop. Very hard to describe, I just think he’s very talented lol

Can’t tell if this was released in 1972 or 2012, honestly lol cool tune by another cool band

Hey I think I remember that album cover!

@Voithos oh thank you… I will start a new music discussion when this hits a thousand posts…good idea…sorry about the clutter.

“Atum” by smashing pumpkins on…such a long three disc set but worth it…I listen to the whole thing…only 2 and a half hours…mellow and rocking too…classic…I saw them in concert in '18. never again…my brother and my nephews were over the top wild that night in the hotel…

“august and everything after” by the counting crows. love this album…the singer is melancholy and sweet in his lyrics which I love about the songs…excellent musicians all of them too…saw them in concert in the nineties before I had my sz.

I like Matt Maher but his music is religious so we’ll leave it at that.

revisiting Oasis tonight…delusional albums for me…I thought of Oasis lyrics as my guide. not anymore, which is why I feel triumphant listening to it now…excellent band anyways.

got Alice in Chains newer stuff without Layne Staley…reminds me of my brother, bless him…he is so angry and hateful…anyways…this is better memories of him so that’s why I am listening to it.
