Job Orientation in a couple hours

I have my orientation for my new job unloading boxes in a dock at the local Wal-Mart. Not a glorious job, but it’s still a job. It’s 11:45 here now, and my orientation is at 1:30. Looking forward to going back to work. A little nervous too.

Good luck! I’m still busy applying for jobs where my application will be circular filed. So much fun! I’m envious.

I am going after this job because it is a (small) stepping stone towards what I want to do in life. It’s not anything glorious like being a chemical engineer or anything, but I enjoy working in the warehouse and manufacturing field. I want to get back to order picking and selecting, and running a well-oiled machine of a warehouse. What I REALLY want to do is go work for Bunn (you may recognize the name from commercial-grade coffee makers), who is about 1/2 mile from my home, and work in their manufacturing department. I love putting stuff together.

Congratulations on your new job Alien! Your nerves will settle down once you get in the groove of things, it won’t take long. I was always a little nervous starting a new job too

Thanks @lovemyson. You’re right, nerves will settle. Part, okay, BIG part of my anxiety is I haven’t been in the workforce in 5 years, save for a 2-week job last year.

take care :alien:

Congratulations and good luck, I’ve had that job before. It’s good exercise.

Good ■■■■ homie

Hope it goes well, you’ll do fine.

By the time you get this one… the orientation will have been done…

Hope all went well.

Congratulations on this. I’m glad things are starting to turn around for you.

Yep, the orientation was completed. I am slated to start work on AUG 3 at a pay rate higher than what I expected. Tomorrow I see the pulmonologist to get the asthma meds tweaked. I’ve been having a hard time breathing lately. Hoping to go on a steroid burst. I need my lungs now more than ever. My job is physical, so I’ll need every ounce of air I can get.

I was on a drug called Viibryd. Please avoid it. It put me in the hospital for a week. It is poison.
