Thankfully I’ve never had a kidney stone. What causes them? Is it diet, genetics, other?
My dad gets them…but i thinks its sugars mostly for me…so diet …but the genes might make me more likely to form them…
Call me crazy
, but I did natural childbirth and it did not hurt. It doesn’t have to hurt. Now, four years ago when I had Plantar Fasciitis, that hurt! I tried to jog through the pain, but it got much worse instead… Three weeks of walking with a cane, wearing a “boot” to bed, and special insoles, and an admonition from the doctor to never jog again, and it got better. But THAT hurt!
I have two kids. Natural births. Without anasthetic. The dentist is far worse than giving birth! I’ll have a baby any day compared to tooth ache.
Oh. My first kid came 6 hours after water broke. The second came 2 hours after the water broke. I almost did not get into hospital in time. No time for any pain killers
Yeah, I had that too. I had to take a month off of work until it got healed. I had to ice my foot every day and the foot doc told me to not walk barefoot anymore, even on carpet. I had to buy the special $110.00 shoes that had supports in them.
YES! I love being barefoot and I can’t anymore (although I do again more now) Have you tried jogging again? @77nick77
My dad used to run when he was in his seventies. After TWO major heart attacks. It may sound foolish, but the facts are that he was just a brave, gusty guy. He used to walk his two dogs every day and he went down a side street and measured off a hundred feet and ran it at medium speed. I used to run/walk 5 miles about three or four times a week when I was 19. But I don’t really jog anymore. When I was put in my first psyche ward I went jogging in the hills with one of the staff. I felt pretty cool that he picked me to go jogging with him and nobody else.
That’s awesome that your dad did that! I admire people who have command of their bodies like that! I really loved jogging. I never went that far though. I got up to four miles three times per week, with other exercise inbetween. I’m not in good shape now but believe I will be again. I’d like to try jogging again but am afraid of that pain. I hope you’ll jog again too since you liked it
Have a nice day, Hedgehog.
In the words of the Great Confucius of the 6th century AD; Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate.
Thanks, @77nick77. You also.
@Hedgehog, @77nick77, do you think those wacky barefoot jogging shoes might help? It causes you to put your weight on the ball of your foot, not the heel. The heel never really touches the ground, so never takes an impact.
It’s also easier on your knees and ankles.
I actually wore a “barefoot” style shoe (not the ones with toes, but very flexible) because the other shoes felt so heavy. But, that’s what caused injury to me. I apparently have small heels and high arches, and need stiff support in my shoes. The best shoes for me now are the heavy stiff ones that I hated before, and then I have to put the stiff insoles in them too. No soft stuff for me
But those barefoot ones are awesome if your feet can tolerate them!
Idk, child birth can last 12 hours…
I had 3 kids, naturally, without pain meds. The last one was 11lbs 8oz (5.2 kg)… it hurt, a lot! But there’s at least a reward for childbirth.
Loved giving birth. I had two kids naturally and they were the best experiences of my life.
