It's finally time that I say good bye to the Risperdal

Risperdal kept my moods pretty stable for almost 7 -
9 years - it kept me sane, but it’s now time that I have to start searching for another AP.

My Testosterone levels are dangerously low and I suffer from severe sexual dysfunction, low libido, ED, retrograde ejaculation and mild Gynecomastia/ higher prolactin.

I will be taking another blood test soon, and seeing my GP.

I am nervous about switching APs but I really don’t have a choice.

I will be researching the “safer” Atypicals - so far I’m focusing on Rexulti - I’ll see what my pdoc thinks.

I’m switching to Latuda…

10 months on Abilify has given me a fat gut and a continual ‘hard-off’. Do not try Abilify is my advice.

OK, good luck @Vertigo .

Seroquel doesn’t do the prolactin stuff as bad. It’s just a little more weight gain than risperdal

I have been on Seroquel before, I loved the stuff, but it raised my blood sugar levels too high, too quickly and also messed my thyroid levels too much, I had to get off of it.

Good luck @Vertigo

I had no sexual feelings while on risperidone and fanapt (separate times of course) and the celexa didn’t help. I wish you good luck in whatever ap your pdoc chooses next.

Well if you can deal with a little akathisia I highly recommend Latuda. Biggest draw back is the cost and some akathisia
