It's a bit odd

mom and dad wouldn’t mind me moving somewhere else. but they want me to stay close, in the area. personally, i figure there is no reason in buying a different place if im going to stay in the midwest, will just stay here. i want to move west across the country or to ireland or something. have no interest in this place at the moment really. isn’t that weird, that they encourage me to live my life, but don’t want me to leave the state?

I understand that. My parents are very supportive of me and want me to be happy but I’m sure they’d rather me be close as opposed to in another state. I’m in SC but i lived in CA for a while. They were always super happy when i came home to visit.

My dad’s always telling me that on my disability salary I could live like a queen in Peru. I would like to be able to speak Spanish fluently again.

After high school graduation I went to Alaska to see family members and go fishing. My mom and grandma were so afraid I’d want to stay there. I like the state but commodities are mucho money.

I have my own sense of escaping the city I live in — land of the psychopath…
My grandma is going to pass soon and I might inheret her house
And get a car
I’m hoping my mom drops the dime to re model it, then I can escape and start over, maybe have some roommates…
Meh.

Sometimes I would just like to be away from my dad. He yells at me all the time and acts like it’s not a big deal. He was grouchy today and I asked him what was wrong and he said,”I just have something going on in my life that is stressing me out”. I thought to myself “You must have been stressed my whole 44 years!” My dad’s been like this my whole life.

My dad goes up and down though. Like he’s really nice then he’s grouchy then he’s nice again. Maybe he’s bipolar? Like he’s got the biggest heart. He’ll help anybody. He’s fed a lot of hungry people. Even he’s bought food for those he sees as his enemies.

It was pretty fun. Four wheeling to get to a cabin in the mountains. Fishing for silver salmon. Lots of grizzly bear poo everywhere. My uncle had to carry this huge revolver when we were outside. Grizzly bears are scary.

The Great Outdoors is one of my all time favorites! I grew up watching John Candy and Dan Aykroyd. Definitely a classic!

That’s a fun movie.

But I’ve never looked at hotdogs the same considering what that movie said they were made from. :joy:

Oh. Really? I must have missed that part! Oh well I love potted meat and I figure it’s made of some yucky  stuff.

Same here. I always keep it in the pantry.

Sorry OP for the derail.

no problem, i don’t have much to add to the conversation anyhow. @ThePickinSkunk found a cheap condo in anchorage, about the same price im paying for this place, but im afraid of earthquakes, and they have some big ones.
