However, GlobalData analyst Christos Michaelides, commented: “While schizophrenia market growth will primarily be driven by the arrival of late-stage pipeline products, such as Minerva’s MIN-101 and Intra-Cellular Therapies’ ITI-007, both of which are directed towards the treatment of negative symptoms associated with schizophrenia, these symptoms will remain a significant unmet need in the space.”
at least there’s something, right? when i first got diagnosed, the only offering was galantamine, which didn’t get FDA approval but, since it’s present in an herbal supplement, i tried anyway and didn’t notice anything. but i think people confuse negative symptoms with garden-variety hopelessness sometimes. my biggest complaint isn’t the negative symptoms, though a doctor might argue it should be, but the fact that the antipsychotic interferes with my brain’s reward mechanism thereby stifling my motivation.
I hope a lot from min 101…if it fails like bitopertin i gonna die…!!!
What about vraylar for neg. symptoms?
Vraylar looks promising too, but someone who tried it recently (I don’t remember the name, but it’s someone on this forum… maybe @Esm ?? ) said it didn’t help with negative symptoms. So my feelings are mixed. Maybe it will help me, maybe not. I’m not holding my breath. On the other hand, I have high hopes for MIN-101.
My life is going good im taking a course and working with my father too but i feel like crap inside. I don’t know if it’s good or not but others don’t see my pain
I also feel like crap inside and unlike you, I am unable to work or study…
it says they hope to have a treatment for this by 2025, ill be 30 by then!
Did you know Iti-007 is supposed to have only a minor effect on negative sx, same with cariprazine. I don’t think Iti-007 deserves to be one of the shows in town.
Min-101 is pretty much the only hope for those with negative symptoms. Do you have any idea when they expect to have it out, like when will it finish phase III? probably some time after 2020?
Stock brokers said release in 2020
So about 3 yrs from now, okay thanks, its always nice to have an idea. What about Iti-007, when is that coming out?
I think ITI-007 just needs FDA approval. If we get lucky, maybe next year.
Where did you read that? I would like to know more!
So treatment for negative symptoms in 2025. That is not too late for having a produtive life. I will be 33. That’s better than nothing right? About cariprazine I think it’s more eficient that you think @eduvigis because it had a much better score than respiridone if I am correct
Minerva will start phase 3 for MIN-101 early next year. I don’t know how long it will take for patients to enroll, but phase 3 itself should not last more than 6 months. If everything goes smooth, near the end of 2017 we should have the results and depending on that we will know if the drug will be marketed and when exactly.
hope this med makes it to the market because no other med have proven effective against negative symptoms of Sz…I
@far_cry0 have you tried cariprazine (vraylar)?
I’m sorry to hear that @Andrey . Its very hard for me on the course too. If i could i would prefer to be at home in bed it feels so much better.
Nope i haven’t Cuz it is unavailable in our country…Wait for min 101…!! it is for negative symptoms !!!
I feel like it will pass all its hurdle…Be patience plz…!!!
